A Trip to Dallas

Last weekend Dave and I made a trip down to Dallas with some friends of our that we go to church with. Dallas is only about 4.5 hours from were we live. We have been planning the trip for quit some time, but a few days before hand I came down with a terriable cold. I felt pretty miserable the whole trip but I survived (thanks to lots of cold medicine)!

The main purpose of the trip was to watch our prized BYU play TCU. The game was a complete disappointment to say the least! Our number 9 ranked BYU was virtually crushed by 25th ranked TCU. We ended up leaving the game with 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter because we couldn't bear watching it anymore. One of our friends even made the statement that he was getting sick to his stomach watch the disaster. The next day I received a call from my Dad who informed me that I wasn't allowed to watch BYU play live anymore!


Day 2 was spent by going to the Fort Worth Zoo, and of course, all little bit of shopping. We really enjoyed the zoo, it is definitely one of the better zoo's I have been to. Day 3 was a trip to Six Flags. We were both very excited about this particular part of the vacation! We arrived shortly after the park opened and stayed till close. With the 12 hours we were at the park, we only got on 7 rides. So what were we doing the rest of the time? Well, waiting in line! We thought that by going in the middle of October the lines wouldn't be so bad- but we were wrong. We asked one of the park attendance if it is normally this bad and she informed us that she had never seen it that busy. Each ride took an average of about 2 hours to get through the line.
To say the least it was nice to go on vacation, but everything pretty much turned out to be a complete disappointment. Hopefully we will have better luck next time.
