My Husband...The Realtor

Dave has been diligently studying to take his Real Estate exam for several months now. The big day finally arrived last weekend, and I am proud to say he is officially a Real Estate Agent! This is something he has always had an interest in and everything fell in place for him to do so. He will be doing it part-time (nights and weekends) in addition to his existing career. I think he will be awesome at it and hopefully I can pull in a few design jobs from it as well!

Now, that he is official we have the daunting task of picking a picture for his business cards and website profile. He is just too darn handsome in all of them...I simply can't decide. We are enlisting your help, so please vote in the poll in the right column!

Just the Two of Us

I was going through some old pictures when for some reason I stopped on this one and smiled. I was flooded with emotion as I contemplated the amazing 7 years we have had together and all of the adventures we have experienced. Sometimes I find myself so consumed with the fact that we have been unable to grow our family that I forget the "family unit" that already exists between us. 

It is just the two of us (and our dogs), but we have experienced a wonderful 7 years as such. There are always different stages in life. We have been in this stage longer than most, but I am sure once all of the infertility hardship is long gone we will look back and cherish the days we had together...just the two of us.

House Keeping Secrets

 

I know you have some...those wonderful house keeping secrets that seem to be so simple yet amazingly effective! Well...I want them! It's that time of year where cleaning (spring cleaning to be exact) seems to be on the brain. 

I saw a unique tip on Apartment Therapy for treating dings or scuffs on wood furniture using a walnut. It got me to thinking...how many creative or practical cleaning tips do you keep up your sleeves that we would all be enlightened by! Please share some of your awesome ideas, even the ones you think we all would know. Anything from cleaning your bathroom mirrors to polishing your wood floors...I want to hear them! And in return, here is the tip I found for dings in furniture...

How To Cover Up Dings

Ingredients [OR] Materials
dinged up wood furniture
one walnut

Instructions

1. Identify areas of your wooden furniture that are unsightly because they have been bumped or scraped.
2. Get your walnut.
3. Rub the walnut on the damaged area.
4. Watch in amazement as the damaged area begins to darken.
5. Step back and admire your work. Hey, you didn't even break a sweat!

* As it says on the site, " We aren't promising miracles here, but with a project this easy it is definitely worth a shot." I found it was effect on some items and not so much on others.

This post also reminded me of Martha Stewart's great Stain Removal Chart. I keep it posted on the inside of my cabinet door above my washer for a quick reference to tackle those tricky stains. Hope it helps...Happy cleaning!
