Hooray For Gardens
Fresh picked from our garden! Umm umm good...
A few weekends ago I accomplished what I consider to be an amazing task... I talked my husband into going furniture shopping with me. We went to several different places, without much luck, before arriving at Cleo's Fine Furniture. Here is the thing... Arkansas' interpretation of what "fine" furniture is considered to be is slightly different than my perspective of fine furniture. We came across a forest camouflage love seat and recliner. Luckily, Dave had his handy dandy camera phone with him because the sight of these said blog posting all over it!
The purpose: The only thing I can figure as to why someone would feel compelled to purchase such a horrendous item for their home is of course... for the purpose of being disguised and going unnoticed as the Arkansas red neck holds his can of beer in his hand, watching TV, and dressed in his camo. His wife won't even notice he is there, and thus... no nagging! Maybe these rednecks are smarter than we give them credit for.
Okay, so this is delayed almost a month but the point is that I am still posting it! I do have hopes and dreams of one day aspiring to true bloggership when I am completely on top of my postings... but until then you will all just have to patient while the "disorganized Kara" gets her act together.
My dining table situation is very different from the master bed situation in the posting below. Unlike the master bed selection, I have had a very challenging time finding any that I like for my breakfast area which has a bay window. And if I do find one I like it is either too big or too expensive. I know exactly what I want for my formal dining room, a large round table with a modern pedestal base, but the breakfast table has been an entirely different story. I had a client inform me the other day that she was a faucet snob... I think I would like to borrow that terminology and say that I am definitely a table snob! I just don't like very many, especially rectangular, but that is the shape this room needs. I find that there is not a lot of variety or creativity in rectangular table design. I want something unique, stunning, different...
Now as for my dining chairs, it has been a no brainer since I started school that I wanted a Klismos style chair. The Klismos chair design is one that has been around since the ancient Greeks. It has a curved back that forms perfectly to you when you sit in it and generally it has what are called saber legs which have the curve of the tooth of a saber tiger (hence the name "saber " leg). I love the form and shape of the Klismos chairs and they are very comfortable for a wood back chair. I found the one I liked in June and bought six of them but they won't arrive for another three weeks. They are made from mahogany and have a beautiful espresso finish with a black leather seat cushion. Please see picture below:
I also have been looking at bar stools and I really like these ones, but I might change them depending on the table I choose for the breakfast area.
The following are the tables that I have settled on thus far. Please vote in the poll on which is your favorite, and again, I would love to hear why or why not you choose a particular one. And If any one has suggestions as to where I can find a table other than what is shown below that would complement my Klismos chairs, I am all ears.

Okay everyone, I am in need of some help...I am in love with all four of these beds and I can't decide on which one I want to get. I love furniture pieces that are unique. The description words or phrases I feel define my style are modern classic, clean lined traditional, modern elegance, and timeless. My master bedroom has 9' ceilings which tray in the center at 10'. Please vote in the poll according to which one is your favorite (I would love to hear some comments as to why you chose the one you did or why you didn't like a particular one)!

P.S. DID I EVER TELL YOU HOW AMAZING MY HUSBAND IS...
Well just in case I didn't here it is again. On our anniversary I woke up to breakfast in bed with my all time favorite meal, cream cheese/orange marmalade stuffed french toast smothered in strawberries with a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice... there is simply nothing better! He had also included a beautiful rose with a super sweet card, all brought to me, of course, on a cookie sheet (it cracked me up- you can tell he is a guy).
I went to work and attended an appointment with a client only to come back to 2 dozen additional roses placed in a vase on my desk with another card. Later that evening he took me out for a wonderful dinner. I just wanted to brag a little and tell you all how wonderful my husband is...
