Happy Birthday Dave!!!!!!

It's Dave's Birthday and so I thought everyone might enjoy a few pictures from his past (unfortunately, I only have one picture of him as a youngster). He was born in Ontario, Oregon long, long ago! He has lived in Oregon, Idaho, Kentucky, Washington, Ecuador, Utah, Nevada, and Arizona (we will soon be able to add another location to that list).

One of my favorite stories of Dave as a kid was when he was about 3 or 4 years old and they lived in Kentucky out on a farm. There was a rooster on that farm the consistently attacked and chased Dave. He was not very fond of that rooster to say the least. One day he decided he was going to show that rooster who was boss. He woke up early that morning, got dressed, and found his favorite cowboy boots. He slipped his feet into the boots and went outside. Of course, the rooster began to charge him. He looked that rooster straight in the eye lifted his leg and kicked that rooster as hard as he could with his little cowboy boots on. The rooster never bothered him again!!!

Dave and I had been dating for a while when I decided to ask him why he had a scar on his face. He told me that one night he got into a knife fight with a gang. I wasn't too believing so I asked again. He went on to tell me two other crazy stories! When I finally met one of his good friends from high school I was very excited to ask him what happened. It was to my surprise when he gave me the same three stories that Dave had previously told me. I eventually got to the bottom of it about 4 months after we had started dating (a little kitten was startled and crawled up his face).

While Dave was working in as Las Vegas for his internship with Pulte Homes, he was out walking one of the job sites when he saw a few of the Hispanic workers not roped in (this is required for the work that they were preforming). He yelled out to them in Spanish "put your ropes on". They all gave him a look of confusion and continued to work. He yelled out in Spanish again, "don't be stupid, I know you can understand me, put your ropes on". Later that day he was walking down the sidewalk when he realized why they were confused. The Spanish word for clothes is "ropa". Instead of telling them to put on their ropes he had been telling them to put on their clothes.
